First CRYPTO-BOX tests on Windows 8 successful
7 December 2011
Two months ago Microsoft revealed the next generation of Windows, along with a "developer preview" disclosing the secrets of Windows 8. Although still in pre-beta-status, the prospective outlook gives a good impression of the new features on the final version.
Some of the most prominent components include:
- A broader hardware support (including ARM processors),
- A new GUI interface called "Metro",
- Faster startup,
- An increased focus on cloud accessibility,
- An improved touch-screen,
- Support for Apps.
The release of Windows 8 is scheduled for early 2013.
To ensure a smooth transition for you and your end users, we have tested the current Protection Kit 5.70 on Windows 8 (64 bit version).
The following functions were tested:
- Installation of the Protection Kit,
- CRYPTO-BOX driver installation (CRYPTO-BOX SC and CRYPTO-BOX USB),
- SmarxOS Application Framework (project preparation and handling),
- MARX Analyzer,
- Automatic protection (AutoCrypt) - local and network,
