Cloud-Computing – CRYPTO-BOX will make it secure and efficient

The benefits and chances of cloud-computing are well known and undoubted. But the huge challenges like secure data transfer between local client and remote server and unique user identification bear a certain amount of risk. The same applies for software-leasing or software-as-a-service (SaaS) scenarios.

For these services the applications and data are no longer stored on the company server or on the PC of the user, the service is provided by an external party instead. This “outsourcing” carries the risk of unauthorized access or abuse of confidential material and services.

For Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer cloud-computing is one of most dominant and central IT items of the future. On-demand-software and SaaS will cause major changes for software vendors, and will bring demands on professional protection strategies and licensing solutions on a higher level.

With the CRYPTO-BOX and the WebSecurity toolkit MARX provides a solution to minimize these risks by adding security and strong identification features to Internet/intranet based applications, such as eBusiness solutions, finance and bank services or online subscriptions. With WebSecurity, vendors of web applications will be able to integrate a secure, hardware-based authentication into all common client-server environments – based on the CRYPTO-BOX hardware key.

Using MARX WebSecurity it´s also possible to sell or update licenses online. It allows to realize licensing models based on subscriptions or other customer specific solutions which will allow access to those services only for authorized users with the corresponding CRYPTO-BOX.
