Android Support for the CRYPTO-BOX
21 February 2012
We are near completion on the support of Android based devices (smartphones, tablets) for the CRYPTO-BOX system.
For now, an example can be found under this
link.
It demonstrates how to access the CRYPTO-BOX via the network. The CRYPTO-BOX must be connected to a computer running Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X on which the CBIOS network server is running.
This example supports Android 2.2 to 4.0. To test, copy the APK file on your Android device and start it. The latest CBIOS network server can be found by visiting our
download area.
In addition, the network support allows multiple licenses to release the application on the network - with only one CRYPTO-BOX. The licenses can be flexible in mixed environments (e.g. computers running Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X or iPhone/iPad). Another possible use is the remote maintenance of the CRYPTO-BOX from Android devices.
The development kit including source code will be available shortly, further details will be provided in upcoming newsletters and on our website news section.
